This is the story of the making of the C J La Trobe statue by Peter Corlett, cast by Peter Morley, and erected on the lawn in the forecourt of the State Library of Victoria.
The 75 page hard covered book is lavishly illustrated with beautiful coloured photographs by Susan Gordon-Brown and well researched text by John Drury.
From the artistic models shown on Peter’s work sheets, the preparation of the clay and the making of the wax forms, through to the casting, erection and unveiling by the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser this book covers the complete history of the process.
